75th anniversary of the Norwegian Red (NRF) breed
In 2010 Geno and Geno Global will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Norwegian Red (NRF) breed.

The Norwegian Red Breeding Association was established in Hamar in 1935. Prior to this the cattle breeding in Norway had consisted of 8-10 local breeds and a few imported animals. The meeting in 1935 merged the local breeds together and marked the start of the breeding philosophy based on picking out animals for their functional traits giving the most optimal cow for the Norwegian Farmer.
To mark the occasion of the 75th anniversary a large gathering will be held in Hamar on April 22nd and 23rd. The gathering is for both members and invited guests and will demonstrate what the breeding work has meant to farmers in Norway and internationally as well as society at large.
